On Sunday 15th November Finghin Collins played a programme of works by Chopin at the John Innes Centre. This was reviewed by Christopher Smith in The Eastern Daily Press on 17th November. Chamber Music Weekend

We said a few days ago that (in spite of the change of pianist) the programme for the Chamber Music Weekend (16th/17th January 2016) was unaltered apart from the addition of an extra item. However, there has now been one more change. We originally announced that the concert on Saturday 16th January would include Brahms’s Piano Sonata No.1. This has now been replaced by his Piano Sonata No.3.

8/11/2015

Additional item in the Chamber Music Weekend

In addition to the programme previously announced, the concert at 3:00pm on Sunday 17th January 2016 will now include Gordon Crosse’s Sonata No.1 for solo cello.

Change of pianist for the Chamber Music Weekend

Unfortunately the pianist Henri Sigfridsson has had to withdraw from the Chamber Music Weekend (16th/17th January 2016) because of a hand injury. However, we are pleased to be able to announce that his place will be taken by the well-known Russian-born pianist Katya Apekisheva. Apart from the addition of an extra item (see above) the programme is unchanged.

At the John Innes Centre on Saturday 24th October Alina Ibragimova and Cédric Tiberghien gave the fourth of five concerts in which they are performing all of Mozart’s violin sonatas. Christopher Smith wrote a very positive review of the concert in the Eastern Daily Press on 26th October. He commented that “we were able to listen and wonder at Mozart’s progress towards more freedom and greater emotion.” The fifth and final concert in the series will take place at the Chapel (64 Park Lane) at 7:30pm on Friday 22nd January 2016. Two weeks before that, Alina Ibragimova will be making another appearance at the Chapel in her role as leader of the Chiaroscuro Quartet. Changes to the Chapel Concert on 8th November 2015

For Sunday 8th November 2015 we had previously announced a performance by the Hoffmeister Trio and Jonathan Barclay. Because of an injury to one of the musicians this has had to be postponed. This concert will be at 6:30pm on Sunday 8th November.

Change of date for the Brodsky Quartet's concert at the John Innes Centre

The Brodsky Quartet's concert at the John Innes Centre on 4th October had to be cancelled at very short notice because one of the musicians was delayed in Amsterdam by fog. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this caused but are delighted to announce that a new date has been arranged. The concert will now take place at the John Innes Centre at 3:00pm on Sunday 13 March 2016. The programme will be the same as it was previously (Shostakovich, Beethoven, Schubert, Webern and Zemlinsky) and there will be a pre-concert discussion at 2:00pm. Full details are available on the Brodsky Quartet page.

People who have not already done so can obtain refunds on tickets for the original concert on 4th October from Prelude Records. Alternatively, they can exchange their tickets for tickets to the rearranged concert, or to other concerts in our programme for the current season. Please note that individual concert tickets for the concert on 4th October will not be accepted on the door for admission to the rescheduled concert on 13th March: for administrative reasons they need to be exchanged at Prelude Records. However, season tickets for the current season will be accepted on the door for admission to the new concert.
